Mary Durner Nolan -Owner/Teacher

"Peace, it does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work.  It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart."  Unknown. As a full-time middle school French teacher, a mom and in the process of adopting her daughter from China, Mary was seeking something that would bring her focus, a sense of peace and grounding to balance the chaos. That was when yoga entered her life.   She left her teaching position in June 2011, knowing she wanted to share her love of yoga with others. She is a Yoga Alliance 500 hour RYT, who believes yoga is for everybody and every body and is grateful to bring that vision to Simply Yoga LBI.

Suzanne Barckley, RYT, LMT, Teacher

Over the past 20 years her practice of Bodywork and Holistic Health has inspired her to bring Yoga to the world. She truly believes that the 8 limbs of Yoga are the keys to a balanced life. Suzanne loves teaching Yoga, Meditation, and Pranayama.  Being a Mother of 3, she believes the most important priority in one’s life must be self-care.  She hopes to instill the truth of this Ancient Practice and the never-ending journey inward.  She enjoys Kundalini Yoga and was grateful to find this practice 12 years ago.  Vibrational sound therapy, singing bowls and the repetition of Mantra are her Heart and she Loves to share this during Savasana. She is a Reiki Master and loves to bring healing touch into her class as well. After attaining her Bachelor’s degree from Georgian Court University she was motivated to practice meditation daily.  She was certified to teach Yoga in 2003 and has taught many styles and varieties from beginners to advanced.  She has been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 1998 and has witnessed the power of yoga practice on the body, mind, and spirit of those open and ready for the transformation. She is looking forward to attaining her Masters in Holistic Health from GCU, as well as her 500hrs from Kripalu when her children are grown. She is motivated and inspired by her students and teachers and hopes to create a more peaceful world by sharing Yoga and Mindfulness. Namaste

Patrice Lange, Teacher

Patrice took her first yoga class at the age of 42 after someone recommended that it would help with the physical therapy she was doing to help ease pain in her neck and lower back caused by herniated discs.  After 10 years of a steady practice, she decided to enroll in a 200 hour Yoga Works Teacher Training because she felt a need to share the benefits of yoga with others.  Since then she has taken additional trainings in Restorative, Chair & Yin Yoga.  Her classes follow gentle sequencing with focus on proper alignment & breath.  She enjoys teaching the connection between the mind and body to help students find peace within.  “Yoga is like music…the rhythm of the body, the melody of the mind and the harmony of the soul create the symphony of life” BKS Iyengar

Rose Dease, Teacher

Rose has a tremendous adoration for humor and fun with her energetic personality! She grew up on the beaches of the Jersey Shore and admires nature, particularly the deep blue sea. Rose values family, friendship, laughing, but above all, self-care!. The first day she went to a Yoga studio, she dove into an All level, Yoga Nidra, and Bikram style class within an 8 hour span, receiving all the benefits that Yoga had to offer. From there on out, attending a Yoga class was a time for internal inventory, seeking truth, and strengthening the body. Progressively falling in love with the practice, two years later she received her 200 hour teaching certification from Hot or Not Yoga in June 2015. In the meantime, Rose also became a certified Reiki Master and graduated with a BA in Psychology. Needless to say, she is interested in personal growth with respect to the educational and holistic approach. Depending on the nature of her classes, you can generally anticipate being challenged, receive Reiki infused adjustments, and end with a period of harmonious relaxation. “Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes” ~ Carl Jung

Heather Committee, Teacher

“Breathe it all in, love it all out.” Mary Oliver.  Heather tried yoga for the first time at age 36 as a counter balance to an active lifestyle including being a wife, business owner, mom of three and long distance runner. She fell in love with the physical exertion and mental calmness she experienced after her first class.  What she didn’t know then, was how greatly it would change not only her physical body but also lead her to experience the transformative power of connecting the mind, body and soul.  At age 40, she decided to deepen her personal practice and share her love for yoga by completing a 200 hour YTT through Liquid Bliss Yoga in Harvey Cedars, NJ and studied under her teachers, Kevin Corey and Jenn McConnell. Through yoga, Heather has experienced personal development and healing that she never thought possible and is excited to share this passion with her students. Through thoughtful classes in a variety of styles, she hopes to guide her students to discover the confidence, inner peace and joy that yoga has given her.

Gina Frank Cohen, Teacher

Gina started practicing yoga regularly about four years ago after taking a class on vacation. Taking this class would turn out to be a pivotal moment in her life.  After her trip, she went to an open house at Hot or Not Yoga in Manahawkin and took a free class with Joell Lanfrank, and every presumption she ever had about yoga was instantly turned on its head.  The energy of the room and Joell's presence made it feel like a party, like a celebration of life.  She began practicing regularly at Hot or Not Studio and never looked back.

This winter Gina enrolled in the 200 hour Illuminate Yoga School with Loren Russo, and is excited to teach at Simply Yoga this summer.  Her personal style of practice is both vigorous and playful; if it’s serious then it’s not fun! She is  forever grateful for her teachers that set the foundation for her practice and have taught her so much: Joell Lanfrank, Jenn McConnell, Amber Herrick, Michelle Pierson, Rose Dease, and Loren Russo.  And thanks all her teachers, fellow students, classmates, friends for the daily inspiration and good laughs. Namaste!

Nicole Brooke, Teacher

Nicole grew up locally and started practicing yoga over 20 years ago.  This past winter she enrolled in a yoga teacher training with a local studio and received her 200 hr YTT.  She is also Level III Reiki certified.  Nicole loves and appreciates the beauty of nature, especially sunrises and sunsets.  She is a speech/language pathologist by trade and knows the importance of effective communication and it's impact on the world.  She works full-time in a nursing home/rehab/assisted living facility.  She loves seeing how positivity can spread and how a kind word or smile can change someone's entire day.  She loves to surf, swim, sail and snorkel, anything that brings her close to the water.

Caitlyn Wylie, Teacher

Caitlyn completed her 200 RYT training through Honor Yoga Mansfield. Soon after, Caitlyn completed her kids yoga training with Little Flower Yoga and loves to incorporate yoga into her first grade classroom. As an active marathoner, Caitlyn originally began her yoga journey to help with her flexibility. Although yoga has helped with her balance, flexibility, and strength, she quickly realized that yoga was so much more than just the physical practice. Caitlyn has been coming to Long Beach Island since she was a child and can’t wait to share this beautiful practice with others at Simply Yoga.
